Walmart is buying purifier manufacturer, Water Purification Plant, for $150 million.
That’s a $30 million deal.
Walmart announced the deal on Wednesday.
Walmart Purification Plants are a part of Walmart’s commitment to clean up the water we drink.
According to Walmart’s website, “We want our customers to be confident that their water is safe to drink, with quality and reliability.”
The company said it plans to spend $50 million over the next five years to upgrade the purification systems.
The company is spending $50m to upgrade water purification plants at its U.S. stores, including the Walmart in New York, Walmart in Seattle and Walmart in Atlanta.
According to Reuters, Walmart plans to invest more than $100 million over 10 years to improve water quality and improve efficiency in the purifier plants.
